For anyone new that stumbles upon this site from the outside world, a bit of background info for you.
My name is Bill, and I worked at a steel mill in the Midwest as a torch table operator for 35 years. Think about that for a second, 35 years of always lugging in a lunch box, usually filled with leftovers, sometimes a microwave meal or the special treat of when I could talk my darling wife into dropping off some fast food. Then one day it hit me, why not bring in some simple appliances and store them in my locker and occasionally cook fresh hot meals for me and some of my coworkers. And so, the Torch Table Cafe was born.
So thats what you'll find here, quick and simple recipes. Things that can be cooked in a crock pot/deep fryer or an electric skillet, or premade and brought in from home.
From that simple suggestion from Jeff, the Torch Table Cafe was born and went live way back in 2008. I’m retired now and the steel mill life is behind me, but the spirit and memories of the Torch Table Cafe live on.
